THE VILLAGE
Immersive, Site-Specific Theatre (2023)
As part of the sound design team for The Village, an immersive, multi-location theatre production by Persona Collective, I contributed sound design for three key scenes across Soho and Chinatown in London, UK. This ambitious project guided audiences through secret passageways, businesses, and iconic venues, where they experienced interwoven narratives in intimate, sensory-rich environments.

JOHN QUAN & CASTING FULL METAL JACKET (Hairdresser Cuts, Soho)
In this opening scene, set in the iconic Cuts hairdresser, I adapted and reworked my earlier sound piece Indochina Jungle, contributing to the tense, fragmented atmosphere of the performance.

DUMPLING SOUNDSCAPE (The Koppel Project, Piccadilly Circus)
Playful and textural soundscape for the Dumpling Scene, merging field recordings of raw dough manipulation and boiling water into the immersive environment at The Koppel Project. Dumpling soundscape was mixed into a full scene by leading sound designer Jose Macabra.

HELL SOUNDSCAPE (St Patrick’s Church, Soho Square)
I composed the Hell Soundscape for the haunting Church Scene, the soundscape evoking a dystopian underworld within the sacred space of St Patrick’s Church. Hell soundscape was mixed into a full scene by leading sound designer Jose Macabra.

The Village by Persona Collective was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, in partnership with The Koppel Project. The project was developed in collaboration with LGBTQ+ communities, Soho’s residents, and local businesses, and featured a diverse team of performers, designers, and producers.
