INDOCHINA JUNGLE

Sound design and voice-over for an installation by Lucie Trinephi and animation by Piotr Bockowski

Installation Indochina Jungle by Lucie Trinephi based on drawings of her childhood memories of Vietnam war in Saigon of 1970s. Lucie begun drawing them more than a decade ago based on flashback which randomly hit her after hearing the propeller of a helicopter when she was riding the bike home.

“Operation Popeye was a geo-engineering programme to control weather. The “make mud not war” programme used Cloud seeding technology to extend the monsoon season for as long as possible. Rainmaking as weapons was in operation for five consecutive years... Silver iodide required as condensation agent is highly poisonous to aquatic life, vegetation and humans.”

The installation was presented at The Chronic Illness XIX event in London 2022 and it was extended into performance act by Lucie herself, Piotr Bockowski and Marina Theodora during her DJ set.
